IBKR journal comparison · October 2026

Which trading journal fits an Interactive Brokers account?

There is no single best journal; the right one depends on budget, brokers and how you review. For an IBKR trader four checks decide most of it: does it pull trades automatically through IBKR Flex, is there a usable free plan, what does a year cost, and can you see your own fills on the charts you already use. Six journals, compared on exactly those points.

Does Interactive Brokers have a built-in trading journal?

Interactive Brokers provides statements, configurable Flex Queries and PortfolioAnalyst, its portfolio reporting tool. Those describe the account. A trading journal works one level down, on each trade: the setup, the initial risk and R-multiple, the mistake you made, the note you wrote, and how the trade looked on the chart. Third-party journals connect to IBKR through Flex Queries: you create a query in the IBKR portal, generate a Flex Web Service token, and give the token and query ID to the journal. FillScope's Flex Query guide lists the exact sections and fields.

Which journal fits which IBKR trader?

What FillScope does — and what it does not

Does: imports Interactive Brokers trades automatically through the Flex Web Service (Midas and Akbank exports and manual entry are also supported), records import health, calculates Edge Score, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, R-multiple, drawdown, time-of-day and weekday edge, and keeps psychology, mistake and playbook notes. The TradingView extension draws every trade from entry to exit with its P&L on the chart you are viewing. It is read-only and never places orders.

Does not: offer backtesting or market replay, connect to hundreds of brokers, or stream live executions from TWS — data arrives through Flex reports, so freshness depends on IBKR report availability. The extension runs in Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc) and is installed from a zip file until the Chrome Web Store listing is live.

How to try it on your IBKR account in about 10 minutes

  1. Create a free FillScope account — no card.
  2. Create a Flex Query and token in IBKR with the setup guide, then paste the token and query ID into FillScope.
  3. Read your first readout, then install the TradingView extension to see the same trades on your charts.

Questions

Which trading journals sync automatically with Interactive Brokers?

On their own public pages, TradeZella (Flex token plus Activity Flex Query ID, daily), TradesViz (Flex Query, about once every 24 hours) and FillScope (Flex Web Service, scheduled refresh) document automatic IBKR imports.
